Selling a Home

Young FamilyThere are many reasons why people sell their homes, but every person selling a home has one thing in common: the desire to get as much money as possible from the sale of their home as quickly and as hassle-free as possible.

But before you begin the selling process, really evaluate your motivation for moving:

  • Do you have too few rooms, or too many?
  • Are you're relocating because of a new job?
  • Are you looking for a larger lot?
  • Or are you simply looking for a change?
A complete analysis of your current position will set a good foundation for your next home hunt.

Make Your House More Sellable

While we all believe that our home is our castle, our personal tastes may not appeal to everyone. I'd recommend watching the free video series on this site for informative tips. I've included one on this page called 'Depersonalizing Your Home'.

I will work with you to give you an impartial analysis of your home to show you how it relates to other "competing" homes on the market. To order your free home evaluation click here.

How Much is My Home Worth?

Well that depends upon the current market trends, but one way to find out is to request a 'Comparative Market Analysis (CMA)' or 'Home Evaluation'.

What is a 'CMA' or 'Home Evaluation'? It's basically an opinion of value, calculated using comparable homes sold or listed within a specific time period and adjusted for difference between your property and the comparable properties.

Advertising Your Home on MLS®

One of the effective services available to licensed Realtors in Canada is the MLS (Multiple Listing Service). It is a database of all the homes for sale through Sales Representatives. Details about your home will be available to other Sales Representatives searching for homes in your area, in the range of your asking price.

Unlike 'for sale by owner' websites, the MLS has a huge share of the online viewing market, which means your property will have maximum exposure to potential buyers.
