Getting 'Fit to Sell'

Brent Dickson, The Real Estate Lad Now that Halloween has come and gone, you're probably up to your ears in left over candy. There probably won't be a meeting room, office cubicle, or nook or cranny where someone hasn't brought in tasty tidbits in to the office that will make you (if only temporarily) forget your good eating diet regime.

'Stunning' - Does it mean anything anymore?

As a Realtor, I find that I cringe whenever I read a listing that has the word 'stunning' somewhere in the description.

Not that I have anything against the word. In fact, I have fond memories of watching the old Sci-Fi series "Star Trek" where "Captain Kirk" ends up telling his away team to "set their phasers to stun" as opposed to fatally wounding someone while they're on a mission.

But when I pick up a feature sheet on a property and see the word 'stunning' being used to describe each and every home, I find it to be a bit of overkill. As if someone had shot the editor in the head with a phaser (while the phase was set on 'stun').

So faithful readers, I'll try to come up with something a little more imaginative in my feature sheets ... and if you ever see me use the word 'Stunning' ... well let's just blame it on Captain Kirk.
